American Idol season 18 has just started and one of the most watched performances of the early selections was that of Dibesh Pokharel, a Nepalese singer living in Kansas, USA. It bears the stage name Arthur Gunn and it stunned judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
First off, Katy Perry commented on her name “Dibesh” which sounds a lot like “best”. Was he the best? Well, after his performance of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”, Luke Bryan asked if he was ready to be the opening act for his next gig in Detroit. That should mean something.
Arthur Gunn walked in with his acoustic guitar and covered Bob Dylan’s “Girl From the North Country”. At the request of Lionel Richie, Arthur then performed “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by the group Creedence Clearwater Revival. Watch his full performance of American Idol 2020 below.
“It is” di besh ” Katy Perry joked after this performance. “We are just trying to prepare you for a global overtaking”, added Luke Bryan! “You are the story we have to tell the world. I don’t think we need to vote ”, said Lionel Richie.
After this performance went viral, for all the right reasons, Arthur Gunn posted a full cover of the song on his official YouTube channel. Take a look below.
He also had the following message for his fans;
I have seen a lot of requests for “Have you ever seen the rain” by the “Creedence Clearwater Revival”. This song is and always will be on my list of my favorite songs around the world. This is the version I made, I hope it does it justice, to show some respect to the band and the song and all of you. Once again, I humbly appreciate and respect your support from all over the world. For now, thank you!
