There are only two verses in the song, which plunges us into Tyler’s innermost thoughts about this wreckage of a relationship he’s currently in.

Tyler, The Creator shouts at the movie ‘Call Me By Your Name’ released in 2017. The film is about the relationship of two guys, which Tyler is said to have used here in reference to his own sexuality.

Although this relationship is a mess, Tyler doesn’t want to move on just yet. He mentions the song “I Want You” (1976) written by Leon Ware and performed by Marvin Gaye to express his feelings for his partner.

“Curiosity Kills the Cat” is a variation of the popular expression “Curiosity Kills the Cat,” which means that too much interest in a subject could have negative effects on our emotions towards it. Tyler may be hinting that his interests in homosexuality have killed his interests in heterosexuality, or even in homosexuality. Or both.

Tyler, The Creator and Solange tackle the chorus of “I Think”. These lines indicate that Tyler is falling in love with this other person, and it appears to be a one-sided love interest.

Verse 2

In the second verse of “I Think,” Tyler explains just how bad the situation really is. He names a commercial personality: Jim Henson, the founder and creator of The Muppets franchise. These stories take on the life of animated puppets. Tyler the Creator looks a lot like a puppet controlled by the sensitive cords attached to her lover.

The same idea appears again in the album ‘IGOR’ in the eighth track titled “Puppet” with Kanye West.
