Meaning of “Saturday” lyrics and review of the song

In the song’s chorus, Tyler Joseph crawls through the days of the week. Mondays are the most hated weekdays in the world. Tyler doesn’t even bother to sing on Tuesdays and Thursdays as those are pretty pointless days when you look forward to the weekend. At least on Wednesday, you feel like you’ve finished half the week. On Friday, moods start to change. Good mood for the weekend. And even Friday nights are known to be chill out days after work.

“Pain the town” is a phrase used to describe a joyous act of greatness. The idea is the feeling of being extremely crazy in behavior.

Verse 1/2

Different themes begin to unfold in the first verse of the song. A full week of work can be boring and boring for us. But what if you have a psychological disorder? Just getting out of it can seem like torture. The world has seen a sharp increase in psychological problems in people during COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 as well. People have been barred from going out, meeting relatives, working from home, and some have suffered the death of loved ones from the virus. It has been a horrible experience all over the world. But, Tyler Joseph hopes and wishes you haven’t lost your footing. We all wish you were still standing, stronger than ever!

In the second verse, Tyler sings about how insensitive he is to the things going on around him (“I don’t feel the waves anymore”.) This could talk about the effects of conditions like depression, loneliness, and social anxiety. At some point, these conditions take precedence over your ability to feel.

Tyler equates these blockages to a fish in a bowl. Space is very limited inside small houses and apartments. Sometimes people were cut off from their families across borders and all air travel was restricted. These situations have had a huge impact on some people.

Being locked in their homes, people even begin to neglect their own hygiene. It is the beginning of the stages which lead to chaos. Personal hygiene is also something that directly affects the well-being of our mind. And personal hygiene is one of the most effective ways to fight the COVID-19 virus.

COVID-19 started in December 2019 and did not end at this time of year in May 2021. So we are living in strange times and we might never go back to the old ways of life. We could move to a new normal where we wear masks in public and use hand sanitizer throughout our daily routine. It is at this point that we can speak with exaggeration of the simpler times that were before – just two years ago!
